I purchased this at SECO 2015 for $100 & it is meant to be used with an Ipad mini3. You don't have to purchase their app - I used the FastAcuity XL VA app for free, but purchased the Snellen for $.99. I am unhappy with this because:
1. It adds too much weight & so the Ipad ended up being lower for the patient's view. I had to raise the mount slightly while testing near acuity. If your phoropter is newer, it's possible that it will look more like the SECO demonstration!
2. You cannot turn off the Ipad without taking it out of the mount. This is a hassle!
IPAD mini 3 is not included!
