SOUTHERN OREGON OPPORTUNITY

I am a solo practitioner who is formulating a retirement plan. I hope to phase out of practice in five years. During that time, I would like to start an associate who would like to begin with one to two days work per week, with the goal of gradually going to full time and a buy out of my practice.

My office is in southern Oregon and is a traditional optometric practice. We do contact lenses, primary care, and some limited low vision work. The office is well equipped with Cirrus OCT, Octopus 900 fields, Kowa retinal camera, Marco digital refraction, Officemate/Examwriter, and many smaller primary care, dispensing, and contact lens tools and equipment. The office has been a full time practice for years and sees a large complement of new and previous patients. The office is low key with a feeling "like family."

The only low end insurances we take are Medicaid and VSP. No Spectera, etc. Patients are accustomed to paying their share at the time of service. They are also accustomed to paying contact lens fitting/refitting fees.

Grants Pass is located in a lush green area of Southern Oregon and is known for its forests and rivers. As such, many people vacation here, enjoying the fishing, hunting, and scenery. Living costs are relatively low.
Local demographics include a large number of retirees but there are many children, too. My practice is general in scope but the local demographics bring a preponderance of retirees. We have excellent relations with local opthalmology. I founded the practice on graduation 35 years ago and still love coming to work-- but I know that my age (65) will require me to retire in a few years.
