Alberta government to provide funding to MRU to explore optometry training in the province - Calgary Herald

There's a part of me that says "oh, great...another optometry school," but the other part finds it ridiculous that in a country of 40M people there are only 2 schools and one of them has classes so small it basically doesn't exist.
 
A simplistic listing, not taking into account many other factors.
Somebody please correct my numbers if they are off.
