Apple Is The Next Big Worry For Eyeglass Retailers - Forbes

You tell'em Fred!

I am almost to the point where I say "F**k it" let it happen and lets sit back and watch the cases of undetected glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, AMD, and retina detachments skyrocket. If our policy makers are so stupid as to not understand this then maybe we get what we deserve.

Everyone of us here could provide an anecdote about serious conditions we have seen in the last year that would have been missed by technology like Visibly and what is discussed in this article. Suppose we each saw 10 (on the way low side) of these type patients in the last year. Multiply by 40,000 practicing ODs in America and that is 400,000 people with missed diagnoses of potentially blinding ocular disease.

Why this simple concept is glossed over by those with dollar signs and tech envy I will never understand.
