Effective treatment of peri-ocular infections based on accurate history and physical exam will be emphasized.

Understanding application of medical treatment beginning with broad spectrum antibiotics and refining drug choice if culture/sensitivity results are obtainable will be discussed.

Recognition of typical patterns of disease presentation and appropriate medical management will be discussed.

Participants will understand when referral for surgical management is appropriate when progression, abscess formation or failure to respond to medical therapy occur.
