Nurs Stand. 2008 Mar 12-18;22(27):51-7; quiz 58, 60 Authors: Watkinson S, Seewoodhary R Diabetes is a progressive disease that may adversely affect healthy functioning of the body. The eyes are often indicators of systemic disease and are particularly vulnerable to the pathophysiological changes that occur as a result of diabetes.
