Today is Veteran’s Day. I feel a special obligation to say something to show my gratitude to those who have served and serve now in our military. I say this as someone who never did. I never had to because others fought so not everyone would have to. To them, then I now, I say thank you.
Recently I listened to a piece on public radio about how many young people don’t vote because they feel their vote doesn’t make a difference, or because they feel there is no difference in the two parties. To them I wold say: even if your vote makes no difference you have an obligation to go to the polls and vote to show your appreciation for what others have sacrificed so that you had the right.
So I for one vote yes to America with its imperfections and sometimes puzzling priorities.
