(Recorded LIVE at the AOA 2015 in Seattle, WA)

In this special ODwire.org Radio show, we go LIVE on site to AOA 2015 in Seattle to visit with Dr. Kurt Moody, the man who led the team that developed the new 1-Day Acuvue Moist Multifocal, and Dr. Charlie Clayton, a Seattle-based clinician who has fit the lens over the last several months during its in-market assessment.

In this brief interview you'll learn:
  • How the new lens is different from other multifocals that have come before it
  • What the deal is with the 'pupil optimized design' that you've probably heard about
  • Why they used Moist as a platform instead of say Oasys or TruEye
  • The best practices and tips for fitting the lens (and how it is different from other MFs.)
  • Patient reaction to the lens
  • What's the deal with low add? Is it useful?
  • Advice for other ODs who are just starting out fitting the lens.
If you have any questions for Dr. Moody or Dr. Clayton, please ask them in this thread, they are both site members & would love to talk.

Thanks again to Drs. Moody & Clayton.

This was a fun show, I usually don't get to do it outside of the ODwire.org Studio (ie, my basement), so taking it on the road & interviewing folks face-to-face in front of an audience was really special.

Thanks for coming to Seattle to have us on your show. I hope you had a chance to see a little bit of Seattle while you were here. We made a deal with the Mother Nature and traded in 500 days of rain and slightly overcast for the bright and sunny week for the AOA conference. The weather was about as good as it gets. It was fun to do the show. Thank you again for being a great host. Cheers, Charlie

The weather really was astounding -- I had to convince people that what they were experiencing was a fluke :) (though I have to say, even in Portland this winter it wasn't as rainy as usual.)

Thanks again for being a great interview & sharing some pearls on fitting the lens. I'm hoping to get myself into them as soon as I get back to PDX
