I am all jacked for VEW, get to my first class an hour early and they can not even check me in.

Walk in the room.

No tables.

No power outlets.

As a lot of young people say these days: You suck.

At least the internet is free if you know to look for the "Vision Expo Attendee" wifi. (thanks to another OD for saving me 50.00!)

When you walk into the expo center you are directed to either enter a passcode for wifi or pay 50.00 for 8 hours of internet (bargain, starts at 9.99 for 1/2 Hour)

VEW,

Please give me an option to pay extra next year for a table and power outlet, it is worth it to me.

Paul Harvey time again.....

DID I MENTION I DID SOME OF MY CE WIRE HOURS WHILE DRIVING??????!!!!!!

Thanks for the wifi tip, I haven't made it over to the conference area yet, but man... everything at the Wynn is expensive. And extra. Surprised they aren't charging for oxygen :)

It isn't all bad. As I set at the empty check in table I got to meet a very nice young attractive female OD who wanted me to scan her badge for for the course :D.

I am married, but I have given you young single guys a great tip!!!!!

Don't waste it!!!

:D :D :D

we had our hotel all screwed up a couple years ago and ended up staying at two places. the second one was NOT a casino but was right adjacent to the pelican, and was incredible. And quiet. Next time, Im staying there the whole time

I forgot how far apart the hotels are -- I grew spoiled and lazy by staying at the palazzo previously. Now at the Wynn Encore (hey, it was half-price!) but the walk is like a mile-long death-march. Through 3 casino floors, multiple shopping centers, and innumerable performance artists.

At least with CEwire, I get to stay in my basement! :)

Hope to see some of you tomorrow at the breakfast lisa set up at the Venetian Grand lux. 7am, be there or be square.... hopefully gretchyn remembered her halo.

Haha... I know what you mean. I did the 'let's try Encore I heard it's nice and it's cheaper' once. It's too long to walk easily but too close to take a cab.

I'll give a big thumbs up to the buffet at Aria. We saw a show there and figured why not.

I'll got next year if we get some commits. Would be interesting to put a face to the disgrace ;)
There's always VEE! There's even an NJSOP meting in Atlantic City in two weeks ( ok stop laughing!).

They should have a VEPTDS. That would be Vision Expo in Places That Don't Suck...of course, it would then just be limited to being in the State of Texas, but rest assured I would attend THAT one.

I don't necessarily dislike Vegas, but it's exhausting.

I agree. cant take your kid with you, always walking thru a casino....

so where would a good place be? anywhere but Texas of course. Chicago? meh. St Louis? probably get shot. Florida? Nashville? Maine?

Austin or Dallas would be good.

Nashville wouldn't be bad if I had to pick somewhere outside of TX.

The "greatest anterior segment disease course" should be renamed to the "greatest anterior segment disease course you have to watch while sitting on your ass on the floor or standing in the back because there aren't enough chairs."

I've got the posterior segment course at 2:45, wonder if I'll get a seat LOL

Weird...all of the CEWire courses I watched had a VERY comfy chair. One was by my pool...

I wonder if state board members are reading these comments? It might inspire them to open up more house for on line COPE approved CE with exam t prove attendance and comprehension.

Why the Florida State Board won't accept even a single hour is beyond understanding.

Do they meet in Fantasyland at Disney World?
