Initial course upload complete :)

I'll keep this list as up-to-date as possible as the show approaches; I know there are several people and courses missing, we're just waiting for their information to come in.

Totally thrilled with the lineup this year, by far the greatest number of speakers we've had at a CEwire.

Update: Added Ben Chudner's talk on Private Equity

Update: Add Laura Periman's class:

JUMPING TO LIGHT SPEED: EXPLORING THE SCIENTIFIC AND CLINICAL EFFICACY OF INTENSE PULSE LIGHT FOR THE DRYEYE AND MGD PATIENTS.

There’s a lot of targets to hit when planning comprehensive treatments for the DryEye/MGD patients. With a playful slant, we will explore the science and published literature on Intense Pulsed Light therapy as well as the adjuncts in a comprehensive treatment plan.

I just updated the CEwire2019 web site with more courses and speakers.

This is far and away the most speakers and courses we've ever had at a conference, my fingers are starting to hurt just keeping the list in order.

We're starting to run the courses through COPE right now, which is why many still say "pending". They'll all be approved by the time the conference starts!

I had the opportunity to sign up for a conference at SUNY College of Optometry on January 27. I usually go to that conference every year as it deals with pharmaceuticals and ocular disease which are required for New York State CE credit. Given that I would have had to wake up in the pitch black before dawn and catch a bus to get the first lecture at 8 o'clock in the morning and it will probably be bitter cold with snow on the ground I decided instead, that I should stay warm and comfortable and not ruin my regular schedule.

So, I'm happy to report that I have registered for CE wire 2019!

I am excited by the lineup of speakers and topics!

Great decision Joel!

New York State is progressive and counts our "Online interactive" courses where the course presenter is present to answer questions as if your were taking the course in the same room as the instructor. One question that has come up...

there are so many courses back to back there may not be enough time to take and pass the 10 question quiz.

What counts is that you took the course "Online interactive", you can take the quiz and pass anytime after that.

Glad to have you on board, Joel!

This is going to be a fun event. We've taken a lot of what we've learned at prior events to fine-tune this one. There are many, many more 1-hour talks and fewer 2-hour ones, as we've gotten feedback that people like the shorter courses and greater variety.

By my count we're pushing 58 credits now (give or take -- we're advertising a lower number just to be safe in case someone falls through!). We've never had a show this large, with this many speakers.

(A couple of people have asked me why I haven't been on the site much over the past couple of weeks -- I've been too busy nailing everything down for the January event! Whew!)

A new CEwire2019 speaker quoted in AOA Ezine today. Looking forward to his perspective:

Opinion: Training Athletes To Be More Aware Of Peripheral Vision May Reduce Concussions.

Alex Andrich, OD, FCOVD, wrote in the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association International for the Healio (1/4) “Medblog” that “during periods of stress, the sympathetic nervous system automatically narrows the range of perceptual inputs to emphasize central vision.” Andrich argued that while this may have been helpful in the past, “it is much less useful on the soccer field, where failure to notice the ball or an attacking player coming from the side can increase the risk of injury.” Andrich said “that training soccer players to suppress the startle reflex and improve awareness of peripheral vision can reduce their chance of concussion.”

The full schedule is now available on the CEwire2019 web site, along with a downloadable PDF of course times. I've attached it here too.

Note that it is subject to change :)

To avoid confusion the times listed are Eastern Standard Time. Compensate in your specific times.

Quite a challenge offering courses live in real time dealing with time zones.

Updated course schedule attached here -- there were just some minor changes. I think that should be it. Looking forward to seeing everyone on Saturday!

Looks like a great lineup. Plan your schedule well attendees.

That's good to know. Last CEWire on 01/21/2018, I took a quiz later in the evening after watching "live" and ARBO's OETracker recorded the format as Online_Enduring as opposed to Online_Interactive.
Thanks for this conference. I, too, appreciate the gift of avoiding a trek to NYC.

Kudos to NY! I wish all states would get on the bandwagon. It's obvious that taking a course live, with interaction, and then having to pass a quiz is far better than signing a form that you are at a lecture while you are playing with your smartphone or reading the NY Times etal. with no accountability
