We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic, and self-motivated optician with excellent customer service, optical and sales skills to join our practice. The ideal candidate will be highly professional, utilizing the latest technology to provide full scope optometric care with a minimum of five years of retail optical experience (preferred).
Our private-optometric practice is seeking a Licensed Optician - State Board license from Virginia is required. We are a small high-end office providing a very relaxed, calm atmosphere to our patients. We sell unique, handmade frames along with the highest quality lenses and coatings available. All of our orders are prepared by one of the best, most professional optical labs in Virginia; no edging or mounting in office. We accept no vision discount plans and our doctor schedules one to two exams per hour. Our philosophy is to maintain a pleasant, friendly experience while recommending products and services not available in other offices.

Essential Functions:
- Assists patient with selection of eyewear.
- Instructs and counsels patient on proper methods of eyewear care.
- Reviews prescriptions; interviews patient and identifies visual needs and recommends all eyewear options.
- Inspects final product for accuracy in accordance with prescription requirements and original order.
- Demonstrates good product knowledge; takes the initiative to accurately describe the features and benefits of various lenses and frames.
- Dispenses and adjusts optical product and make repairs. No edging or mounting.
- Shows patience and courtesy to indecisive or hard-to-please customers; offers to track down answers to unfamiliar questions or products.
- Takes pride in the appearance of the store and shows initiative in keeping the displays and inventory clean, attractive, and organized.
- Meets with vendors to determine frame lines to purchase and exchange when necessary.
- Maintain written and verbal communication with lab as required.
- Performs other related duties as necessary.
