We're also continuing the conversation about this product in this thread.

Feel free to chime in; i'm at Vision Expo East this week, so i'm going to be periodically checking in with 'new stuff' as I see it.

    Thanks!

If you see Morris, ask him if he'd like a joint conversation on ODwire. I'd love to discuss his off the wall practice management statements.

    Scot, clear something up.

With the DT-1 lightstream technology, it seems like there is a big polymer whoopee whereby strands of molecules project from the lens like flying spaghetti, etc. This makes the lens very, very unique and we all know what a killer this lens is.

Now, with the Air Optix Plus, we are not getting some new polymer, right? It's still lotrafilcon B with plasma coating, right? You can't materially modify the material.

What the "plus hydraglyde" is, is "just" a viscoelastic/humectant/goo/jello that is added to the packaging, right?

It was added to the packaging of the Dailes "aqua comfort Plus", right? Same stuff, right?

Same stuff that's been put in the Clear Care bottles and the Puremoist bottles, right?

Whatever it is, it does seem to help initial comfort.

Also, does using the Alcon lens care products with the AO+HG "replenish" the initial insertion comfort? It seems like, if it's a package additive, it would only be good out of the package, and would need re-applied after each use.

I.e., is it pointless to prescribe AO+HG and then have them use a non-Alcon solution?

Fruit salad, bacon and eggs and pastry. I didn't see Morris at the breakfast. I got there a little late talking to Millie Knight VP or Vistakon. Morris got put in history place.

Lunch was sponsored by J&J an B&L. Salad that was a meal in itself, flan, choice chicken or salmon. They split the lecturing in time each claiming th best 1 days. Snack time was pretzels and soda.

Generally, those sponsored lectures at the meals were great! It was th others that really sucked! If they want to invite their friends to lecture, fine get new friends. Since the lectures were free, we got what we paid for!

Wait, are you serious about not walking? The neighborhood has been totally cleaned up!

I've been walking back-and-forth from times square every day. You pass one apartment building on 40th not far from javits where the prices start at $1.4MM ... the scene is a night-and-day difference from when I was a kid.

As for food, I already stopped at Dean & Deluca on 8th to get a bunch of babka, thank you very much :)

how so? we've spoken a lot with Scot over the years, his PM advice seemed to be of the practical-and-implementable type.

Scot has always been a fantastic speaker (One of the reasons we have had him at every CEwire event) Motivating, knowlegable and animated.

I have picked up many a practice management tips from Scot. What specifically did you find not realistic. Remember he practices in rural Colorado far different setting from central NJ Rich.

You have a habit of making statements about your opinion but not backing them up with facts.

What specifically do you think was unrealistic?

Studies done have shown that when you are out of network, you retain3% of the patients not all. APMs are fast becoming closed panels, should a patient pay you 100% or 0% to stay in network. How successful are they? This was the first year that renewals and new enrollees of Medicare Beneficiaries chose APMs. Way ahead of CMS schedule. Commercial plans are copying CMS regulations word for word.

This is a limiting factor now and growing on your practice.

Sorry 2 minute break over, back to work!
