Paul Farkas has asked me to say something about elder hostels as combination vacation and learning opportunities during retirement. We have attended about 15, including two overseas, and find them an excellent method of keeping the old brain in gear while traveling. The costs are quite reasonable, the facilities good but not fancy. Usually they are in a motel, or a conference center. We don't go to any where residence is in a college dorm. I'm too old not to have my own potty rather than one down the hall. If you'll call 1-877-426-2167, they will send you quarterly catalogues describing trips that are available.
Let me know if you have any questions. Also for those of you who have been participating, I would welcome your putting on this site any sessions you've attended that you would recommend to others.

Hi Jack, thanks for the post.

I've moved this thread to the "retirement issues" forum. Anyone who wishes to follow-up with replies can do it there.

    Thanks,
