Ironic

Isn't BC on the leading edge of the "no exam neccesary" movement.
Home to Coastal?

Hopefully they were actually checking for glaucoma on a regular basis and not just annual exams.

This young woman states in the article, “[Glaucoma] wasn’t something we were looking for,” Chopra says about her diagnosis. “Then we found out my eye pressure was higher than normal. We were very lucky we caught it when we did.”

The article states she has Peter's Anomaly/microphthalmia, which glaucoma is a common issue. If what she is stating is true, this is more like dodging a bullet rather than being a hero, IMHO

This is just a press release from the Canadian national institute for the blind, picked up by this newspaper.
