@Laurence Craig Thomas - it is interesting that you brought up this tech for an entire lecture, I noticed in Kerry Gelb's lecture about clinical testing and diabetes, he also uses it to detect very early retinal changes in his patient population.

So I suspect you and he are a little 'ahead of the curve' with the tech.
