National Board Clinical Examiners Needed

I have been advised by the lady who recruits OD's to serve as examiners for the clinical part of the national board, that examiners are needed in Houston on the weekend of April 24 & 25. I have served as an examiner several times and find it professionally challanging and satisfying at the same time. There are 5 testing stations in the clinical part and the professional competence needed ranges from oberving and scoring as "right or wrong" refraction up to BIO, punctal plugs and retinal lenses like the Volk 78. No matter what level of practice you are at, there is a part of the clinical exam that you can be a competant examiner for. Anyway, if you think you would enjoy something like that, email Jan Solovey at solovey@optometry.org She sets up the schedule, sends out the examiners handbooks etc. You can do this if you practice any level of Optometry. You will not get rich on this but you will recover most of your costs and gain a new respect for the new grads and elevate your professional standing in your own eyes.
