ODwire.org, the largest social network exclusively for eye care practitioners, donated $10,000 to the American Academy of Optometry Foundation (AAOF) at the American Academy of Optometry’s annual meeting in Chicago.

The AAOF is the Academy's philanthropic arm, providing over $450,000 each year in scholarships, fellowships, and research grants.

ODwire.org’s gift was drawn from the profits of CEwire2017, the online CE conference series held this past January.

This is the third donation by ODwire.org to the AAOF, and with this gift the site has become an AAOF President’s Circle Gold member.

“We’re thrilled to once again be able to contribute to the AAOF, as their mission of providing access to clinical education aligns closely with ours”, said Paul Farkas, MS, OD, FAAO, Head ODwire.org Administrator.

CEwire2018 Scheduled

The dates for the next CEwire conference were announced. CEwire2018 will be held online live on January 20 & 21, 2018, and remain available on-demand through May 1st, 2018.

The conference is expected to offer 40 COPE-Approved CE credits and feature a wide variety of optometric topics with three tracks focused on medical optometry, dry eye, and contact lenses. The conference will also feature an extensive virtual exhibit hall, with vendor discounts for participants.

More information and online registration will be made available at CEwire2018.com.

Adam is humble and failed to say We, at CEwire, have also sent large contributions to VOSH the last two events, The Lighthouse Guild and Prevent Blindness in our last three events. It is a pleasure to be with the Farkas's in this endeavor. Hopefully, with your help, we can get to the top of the donating totem and pass Johnson and Johnson!!!!!!!!!!

lol, at this pace the sun will explode and consume us all before we reach that goal. But we can always try! :)

J&J is a really generous organization, they give a tremendous amount to these groups (and they don't usually say too much about it!)
