Optometry professor secures $1.9 million grant from the National Eye Institute to combat myopia epidemic - University of Alabama at Birmingham

Crazy waste of taxpayers money. The ideal vision in our life is low to moderate myopia. High myopia is genetic and not preventable except gene therapy.
 
I disagree. If you prevent a say -5.00 and leave them at -2.00, that is a considerable advantage. I do agree if a 6-year-old is already -3.00, it may not be as beneficial.
