This year has seen the discontinuation of a number of popular brands of contact lenses. But what happens when that extended-range parameter lens your patient loves gets discontinued?

You’ve put a lot of time and effort into making your patient happy, and now you have to start all over again. Worse yet, the “recommended replacement” may not fit well and will take 4+ weeks to arrive. You don’t deserve to waste your time and your patients don’t deserve to compromise their vision and/or comfort, just because a big corporate lab decides to discontinue a product.

This one should be interesting -- time marches on, the issue is how to keep people happy when their favorite product disappears....
 
Just want to remind everyone about the webinar tonight, should be an interesting one, as more lens designs exit the market.

I don't know if this trend is being accelerated by boomers aging out of their old designs, and manufacturers d/c'ing them on that basis (which would make sense demographically).
