The 2002 meeting of the American Academy of Optometry is now history. In my opinion,as someone who has attended more meetings than I care to remember, this was the best.

San Diego, especially in December is the perfect venue. The location on the bay, next to the Convention Center and 10 minutes from the airport was ideal.

Our 6am Breakfast Seminar was well attended. We had both Seniordocs and Juniordocs mixing beautifully. Many noted ODs attended but it was a special pleasure to welcome Irv Borish congratulate him and sing "Happy Birthday Irv" for his 90th. He is truly an inspiration and deserves the title "OD of the Century"!

Two other ODs, who helped inspire the creation of www.seniordoc.org attended. They too are legends. Irving Bennett and Jack Runninger have made and continue to make significant contributions to our profession.

We had a fine representation from our International Optometric community as well. For more on the meeting, our webmaster videotaped some of the proceedings and it will be on line shortly. Look for it.

Speaking of our web master, he put on his "docwolf " hat and gave a memorable presentation on how to use the internet for fun and profit. Perhaps some of the attendees will comment on his pesentation as well as the Breakfast Seminar.
