We have reached the final month for CEwire2015. The courses should speak for themselves but there is more. You could win an iPad Air2

Are you motivated to attend all twenty nine hours and pass the exam for each course? Adam receives notification who has passed. We shall give the names of those who passed the twenty exams during the week of 8/17/15.

During the week of 8/24/15 there will be a drawing for one lucky OD who made that extra effort to win an iPad Air 2.

We have been asked why 29 hours and not the thirty hours?

Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond anyone's control the course to be presented by Dr April Jasper never made it. So that is one test C/E not to be taken.

Any questions? This is the place for feed back.

I will say this -- it is the best chance you'll ever have of winning an iPad. Because if you think about it, it is like climbing everest -- 1,400 docs are at the event attempting the summit, but only a handful will actually make it to all the courses & plant their flags. So from that group we'll be drawing a winner. :)

False advertising. I want my money back.

Of interest for those who have taken all 29 hours and passed the tests...

Adam receives the names and we expect only a small group will have made that extra effort taking full advantage of the C/E.

For those motivated ODs, we could use a focus group to assist in planning our CEwire2016 program. What topics did you find most useful on CEwire2015. Should we expand on those topics? What new areas should C/E cover? Any special speakers that you would like to hear?

As far as vendors are concerned...

We should have an easier time signing up companies we we have a track record of a large number of participating ODs this past year. Any company you would wish to visit during the live week end program to learn more about their product and possibly receive a show discount?

We'll be happy to hear all opinions but will pay special attention to the group that passed the 29 hours exams. They are really COPE approved CEwire 2015 boosters.

I'd love to have the videos available indefinitely, but remove the test and CE credit after a few months.

The speakers were very generous allowing their presentations to remain up for three months. They should not have to compete with themselves if they wish to offer their material at future live meetings nationwide.

There will be other presentations some with the same speakers and hopefully other speakers and topics.

Hello there! Honestly I haven't been on ODwire since I was a student. Saw about the CE in a facebook ad. Stumbled back here after completing the courses. I thought it was excellent quality CE and quite well balanced for the most part. I would have enjoyed more contact lens stuff just because that's what I geek out over. But I really can't complain.

Here's my one critique. Did anyone else notice or experience this? Each video takes up wayyy more bandwidth than necessary. Like almost a GB for a one hour video. I'm just not used to having to watch it with my bandwidth cap. And the mild annoyance of being partway through a video and being logged out at 11 pm (central) and having to log in and load the video all over again.

But the CE itself, top notch. I used to think online CE almost felt like cheating, but now I don't think that at all. The only difference is convenience (and cost). I'm in Missouri so I can get all my hours online. A personal detail, but I have a baby daughter, and getting all the CE in with a breastfed baby is quite difficult and requires a lot of planning. With my firstborn, I had to take my mom with me to a conference and run up to my room during breaks to try to feed her (my baby, not my mom :p) really fast before my next class. So CEwire 2015 really could not have come at a better time for me. Thank you thank you!

Erin -- thank you for this & welcome back to the site. Your comment makes the stress of putting on the conference worthwhile.

I had almost forgotten about those days, but your experience reminded me of my wife's struggles going to conferences when she was still breastfeeding. Total nightmare; I even recall one episode being trapped at O'hare with her for several hours, trying to find a private spot...

Glad we were able to provide at least some assistance :)

Have you announced the winner of the iPad yet?

We just received the final count of the 74 who passed 29 hours of exam.

Drawing should be this week. Winner will be announced.

hi guys, working on the drawing this afternoon.

i'm impressed by the # of people who took *all* the courses -- my assumption was that people would just pick-and-choose. CEwire2016 is going to have even more credit hours, so... we'll see how many people can do all of those :)
