The 39,000 Question?

We are contacting Dr Jasper. She recorded the entire lecture and there was no sound.

She must resolve her technical problem and then decide whether to do the lecture or wait until next time.

Either way CEwire2015 has the 30 hours promised. We added an extra hour for this type of eventuality.
Thanks for the heads up. There are many other excellent choices available. Thanks to you and Adam.

I did not sign up because I already had all the hours and more that I needed for this CE year. I don't need any more until 10-01-15. Then I would be very interested.

On the other hand...

Check with you state board. Some states allow banking the overage for the following year.

If that is true in your state it's a shame to let the $5 per credit opportunity pass you by.
There is still plenty of time to 8/17/15 to take the courses and the vendor discounts.

We are viewing most of the courses for self-development.

You would like the speaker's power point presentation? Interesting...what is it worth to you to have a hard copy?

My CE renews in Nov 1 every 2 years.

In terms of presentation hard copies, I believe most lecturers would be more than willing to post or email their talk to those interested.

I'm not as certain that speakers most of whom have day jobs want to take the time sending out their original material without serious compensation.

I think the CEwire2015 participants received value without the need to press speakers for even more.

My reason is simply that Mississippi limits us to only 4 hours of online courses which I usually get from the free ones offered by Review of Optometry or Optometric Management.

Believe me if I could get 8-10 hours online then I would certainly do the one offered here.

I guess I'm bumping an old-ish thread. But I think the idea of copies of presentations comes from going to live seminars where attendees receive a book with the slides and room to take notes. It does make note-taking far easier, but it's less common at live seminars now too--in the name of being green--but I also think it's something to do with the $$$ it costs to print all those books. Instead, I've had the option to go to the convention website to download all the lectures (or the ones I'm attending) and print them if I so desire. What happens a lot of the time though is that it's an older version of the presentation or maybe a draft. Not always though. I can take it or leave it, but the idea I don't think is so far-fetched.

I'm in MO like Dr Zimbalist, so November 1 every 2 years.

I would ask anyone who enjoys online education to contact their state board and ask them why their limits are so low, and to consider upping them.

We now have states where all CE can be done online, and we haven't seen an epidemic of blindness or malpractice suits...

um, 2 cycles ago, I found myself on Dec 27 in the wonderful ice cold world of Indiana, getting those last few credits in. The room was jam packed.

EVERYONE procrastinates :)

I'd change the close date to 12/31 if thats possible
