Adam: can I pause and resume on another day?
That should work just fine - the system looks at "total time watched" for each video, so if the playhead gets sent back to the beginning when you come back later, just move it to the correct time & pick up from there.

thanks!

The opioid epidemic of the 2 decades has impacted nearly every American family in some way, shape, or form. This course will review some of the more commonly prescribed opioid medications in a primary eye care setting. It will also go over contemporary guidelines authored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to help curb opioid addiction in a health care setting.

MANAGEMENT OF OCULAR PAIN IN THE ERA OF THE OPIATE/FENTANYL EPIDEMIC
Bruce Onofrey, OD, RPh, FAAO

Management of pain with controlled substances has become more challenging within the context of the devasting effect on society of the opiate/fentanyl epidemic. This epidemic has affected the wellbeing and lives of thousands of people.

To ensure that prescribers do not add to this problem via the legal prescription process, the DEA has mandated that all DEA licensees participate in regular training, prior to renewal of their DEA license to prescribe controlled substances. This lecture will cover strategies to avoid diversion of these drugs as well as alternatives to their use. Case management examples are used to illustrate proper drug selection and use. Addiction mechanisms, behavior and resources to aid the addicted patient and provider are included.

The complete pharmacology of these agents is covered including indications, mechanism of action, side-effects, adverse effects, dosages and contraindications.

Hi Robert -- Dr. Pizzimenti can't make it to the live show this weekend, which is why his DEA courses aren't on the schedule "live" this time around. (and you are correct - they are all in a single track on Sunday.)

Importantly, the DEA does not care if you watch these talks live or on demand, so you can actually take them at any time and get credit that the DEA will accept. (The only hitch is that with the on demand talks, you'll need to pass a quiz vs. watching it live, where you just fill out a survey.)

Thanks!
Adam

Correct Adam. I forgot about DR. Pizzimenti but you can take it Asynchronously or at the next two Live weekends in June and September. He will be there then

Updated schedule for the April synchronous event this weekend is now up:

https://www.cewire2024.com/schedule/

Items of note:
* Dr. Kalaczinski's lecture on Human Trafficking has moved from Saturday to Sunday at 7:45pm ET

* Dr. Pelino's lecture on CRAO was scratched due to non-availability; it is available on demand, and he should also be at the June and September shows if you want to wait to watch it live.

* Dr. Pizzimenti's two talks were also scratched due to non-availability. Again, they are available on demand, and he also will be back in June and September.

Note that one of Dr. Pizzimenti's talks qualifies for the DEA requirement -- unlike many states, the DEA does *not* care if you watch these talks on demand. So feel free to watch them that way, if you want to view other tracks this weekend.
