While you are waiting to receive approval for the Private Forums, you might wish to review some of the earlier posts as well as the Articles. For clarity it is best to begin reading the posts from the bottom up.
You will recognize many of the individuals, who share their thoughts with the community. Some names, new to you, will be optometrists from outside the US who are contributors to the profession.
The community is fortunate to have recognized experts in every area of Optometry. In addition we have non-Optometric authorities to answer questions as well.
For example our webmaster, Docwolf is known outside the Internet world as
Adam Wolf Farkas, M.D., M.B.A.
He has three areas of expertise....General Medicine, Business Administration and Computer Technology with emphasis on Internet Communities. Adam designed and built our web site as a thank you to Optometry for support during his years and years and years of training. So if your large healthcare organizaton has management or computer difficulties Docwolf has the prescription. Just ask. He spends agood deal of time travelling , but his computer is at his side and he will remain, our webmaster problem solver.
In addition we have an Internationally known OMD as part of our community, who was raised in Optometry. His father is an AAO member and a Diplomate in the Cornea/Contact Lens Section. He is a Professor, Author and Clinician who will be answer questions as required.
He, as well as our Practice Management , Business and Real Estate advisors will remain anonymous until their first post. Our community membership is confidential since many of our members prefer to observe rather than participate.
To maintain confidentiality, I and Docwolf are the only individuals who know the entire membership. I do, at times, request an expert response from one of our community members. You will appreciate this wealth of talent and opinions from members of the community. There is no censorship and no sponsorship by either Organizations or Industry. This is a not for profit website devoted to the education and sometimes entertainment of optometrists. So learn and enjoy.
